The Openex Clevis Pin Inspection Machine is a fully automated optical inspection system engineered to tackle one of the most persistent quality challenges in clevis pin production — flange deformation and bottom dents. These defects not only shorten product lifespan but also cause customer complaints and significant cost waste.

Our optical engineers successfully solved the challenge of detecting tiny and hard-to-see defects by utilizing specialized lighting modules combined with telecentric lenses. This ensures consistent image clarity and minimizes reflection interference, even on small reflective pin surfaces.

Due to the clevis pin's small contact base and tall structure, stable feeding is crucial. Openex’s mechanical engineers designed a custom vibration bowl and feeding system that prevents part wobbling and ensures each pin is precisely positioned on the glass inspection disk. Additional guiding structures at the conveyor output further stabilize movement, ensuring smooth feeding and accurate inspection.

The inspection process is fully automated — from part alignment and imaging to sorting. The integrated pneumatic ejection system separates good and defective parts in real-time, enabling continuous, unattended operation and complete traceability.
